TANJUNG PRIOK SEA PORT

Tanjung Priok is one of the biggest seaport in Indonesia belong to Jakarta Spceial Province. Among the biggest sea port of Indonesia developped since 17th century are Tanjung Perak - Surabaya, Belawan - North Sumatra, and Soekarno - Hatta Sea port in Makassar, south Sulawesi. The traffic of goods from various areas of Indonesia are concentrate4d at those 3 ports to be forwarded to outside Indonesia, and as on entry ports of imported goods. All sea ports in Indonesia is owned and manged by the state under PN Corporation, and zoned from PN I to PN VIII. Tanjung Priok is under zone II. The following is short chronology of the administration of Tanung Priok Port since the independence of the Republic of Indonesia.

  • 1960 - 1963 Administration by PNB Pelabuhan I to VIII, under the regulation on government no. 19, 1960
  • 1964 - 1969 The Commercial activities were still under PN Pelabuhan, but the whole aspect of the port was co-ordinated by special Port Authority bureau
  • 1969 - 1983 Administration of Sea Port is under Port Company or Perum Pelabuhan Indonesia
  • 1992 - March 1999 The status of Zone II was changed into Limited Corporation owned by government, under the regulation of the Republic of Indonesia no. 57, 1991, 19 October. With the new status of the company, it is expected o grow professionally in serving the trade and passengers. The objective of the corporation was also set up to deliver the quality service with International standard, through strengthen the commitment of the company, especially Tanjung Priok Sea Port to the customer, supplier partner, nation, share holder, the people and worker. With this new status it is expected that the corporation can compete and maintain its strength in global service trade.

The size of Tanjung Priok Sea Port is 424 hectares and total land under company is 604 hectares. The length of wave buffer is 8.456 meters, with pier total length of 16.853 meters. In total is has 12 units of porst with depth from 50 to 140 DM.

Container pier 14 units with total length of 2.487 meters
Used metal terminal 1 unit with total length of 200 meters
Passengers terminal are 2 units with total length of 300 meters
Special pier for oil 4 units with total length of 100 meters
Special chemical pier 1 unit with total length of 276 meters
Public Godown 45 units with the size 170.077 square meters
Public Square 52 units with size of 293.393 square meters
Container Freight Station 6 units with the size of 16.019 square meters
Container Yard 25 unites with the size of 142.409 square meters
Dagnerous good godown 6 units with the size of 10.260 square meters
