HOTELS IN GLODOK CHINA TOWN

Jakarta city also has an old part of the city called China town and often also called Kota or Glodok. This part of Jakarta city is the oldest town which was the first colony of Dutch by seizing the town of Sunda Kelapa, the most important port city of West Java kingdom in 17th century. When the Dutch built the town it was renamed Batavia. This is the one of the most interesting historical places in Jakarta and has become the famous visit of domestic and international travelers to the city of Jakarta.

Today the area of Glodok is known as China town which is bordered by Jalan Gajah Mada at the east. Jalan Gajah Mada is the main road that leading from the beginning of Jalan Mangga Dua Raya southward up to Monas or Monumen Nasional. This road is divided into 2 lanes, one is for normal car and other lane is for the traffic of Bus Way, the transport developed during the governor Sutiyoso. See more
