Austria and Switzerland are two neighboring countries with some similarities, especially they speak German, and both are close to the country. Switzerland with its main cities of Zurich, Bern, Lugano, Geneva, and Basel are well known in the political history of Europe. Bern or Geneva have been place of various political events, while Zurich as the economic base of Swiss is the biggest city of Switzerland located on the Limat river flowing just in the middle of the city. Switzerland has been well known for its multicultural population, yet they have strong Swiss feeling. The southern part is inhabited by Italian speaking Swiss, on the west is France speaking Swiss, and on the rest is German speaking Swiss. The Italian speaking area has the capital city at Lugano, and France speaking area with the capital city at Geneva, while German area including more wider area such as Cantonese of Zurich, Bern, Basel and Saint Galen. From the beginning Switzerland has been known as neutral country in Europe, politically and socially. This character has made Switzerland become the country that is not involve in many political up heavels in the course of European history. This long history of Swiss has been building up the country into specific character that interests the visitors from all over the world to visit its properties, and Swiss developed into the most frequently visited or as the destination of tourist in Europe. Swiss is said to live from tourists, as many cities have excellent traveling facilities such as hotels, tour organizations, skiing organizations, and event outbound tour organization, and during 1990s very popular outbound tours called beach holidays, and incoming tours for city tours and mountain tours including skiing during summer. It is almost the same as Austria that has two main cities that are very interesting to visit beside historical places such as Low land of Austria at Hallstatt where the archaeological park and the museum of history of Austria. The Alpine valley of Austria has the longest history of culture. The city of Salzburg and Vienna are the most developed regions of Austria where tourist facilities are available from Deluxe to medium class hotels and companies organizing tours to the country. Like Swiss for Zurich, Vienna is the capital city of Austria, where the king of Hapsburgh dynasty on the throne for almost 650 years until 1930 before the country was changed into Republic, and Vienna as the capital city of the Republic.
